Crowd Pleaser.

The good old crowd pleaser. What do you think of when you hear that word..crowd pleaser? Who do you know that fits that term...crowd pleaser? I love the picture to the left, now that's what I think of when I think crowd pleaser...someone that is out front above the masses, using their talent to please the crowd. Using their gift for the good of the people.

Have you ever been a crowd pleaser? I have. It was great as long as the crowd was with you....but lose the focus and attention of the crowd, or do something the crowd does not like..they turn on you in a minute. Ouch. Funny how just getting a little off center can send your support on a death spiral.

Have you ever had this happen in the most unlikely place...church? Now the stakes get high. Once you get off track from the "crowd" and you can define that a number of ways...congregants...members..leadership...whoever you have to "please" to keep using your gift, then you are sure to be dismissed. What's funny is when the crowd dismisses you and thinks it is for your benefit that they are doing so...oh to be so knowledgeable...

I pray that as you worship at your place of worship you will focus on the one we are to please...And I am so thankful that I am not among a crowd I have to please.
