I love this word. Motives are some of the most difficult things in life to deal with...as well as to try to assign to someone else. I once heard a man that was teaching to a large group of people give a strong warning about trying to know the motives or rather assume the motives of others he said,"You can't tell me what the dog is thinking but you are positive that you can tell me what another human means or intends to do or the motives behind their actions..." I never have forgot that.
I am sure that we all have experienced this before. We say or do something and someone jumps to some wild conclusion that we meant one thing or that our comment was aimed at one person or a group of people. I have recently experienced this myself. You can say something on a website like facebook and people from every corner of the earth seem to "know" what you meant...it is truly an amazing thing.
I am so glad that God sees us for what and who we really are and for what we really mean. God says that men look at the outward appearance and actions and that God alone looks at the heart. We are so quick to judge and assume that we are in full understanding of what is going on...
So lets stop assuming that everything we read or hear is in the imaginary context that we want or think that it is in.
God may we see others as you see others and may we see ourselves the way you see us.
Peace.
