A new year..a new month..a new week..a new day..and a new chance. I like new things. I have grown to like older things as well, but there is something about something when it is new. As I had some time off from work the last week of December I started to think about the new year and all the opportunities and challenges that it will bring.
There will be several things that will need to be finished and resolved, but there will also be several things that will be new. There will be new opportunities to do things that I have never done, there will be new people to meet, and new relationships to form and to grow. I am excited about this "new" year.
I am so thankful for a God that makes everything new every day. His mercy and love are fresh and new with the beginning of every day never before lived. I want this year to be "new". I want it to be a year that I live out the things I claim to believe. I want it to be a year that every day is lived to the fullest.
I hope that you will join me in this New year with a prayer that God remind us that all things are new and for us to enjoy life and be the blessing that God wants us to be.

Jeff, I am excited about the new year as well. So much new for us this year. It will be so interesting to be aliens in a foreign land. Maybe it will bring home the feeling that we are supposed to have as members of God's body here.

God, You are great. You love us in spite of ourselves. Help us to see that you are creating us as new creatures each and every day. Help us recognize all the opportunities that you give us for service and growth. Help us to see the good in ourselves and in our brothers and sisters.
