My it has been a long time. Please forgive me and I hope you have not given up on me. I have had a very long sabbatical so to speak from my blog...and other things for that matter. Life has a way of make time stand still and at times it goes by like a flash of lighting. Most of my time has been at work and connecting with a few old friends I have not heard from in 20 plus years. Also it has been a time to wonder about God and what are those few things that really seem to matter to Him.
My family has experienced a lot of transition lately. Both of my girls are attending a new school and my wife has changed jobs as well....and with both friendships have changed and some seem to be fading away. Its funny how things seem so inter connected, and you don't even realize it most of the time. I never would have thought that one event would effect the relationship at another "location".
Seems to be true with church as well. I am finding more people seem to be interested in their " brand" of church than relationships or even what we are doing at church. I have GOOD friends that will be friends no mater what, but I am also realizing that their are some people that are really focused on their brand.
Its like the movie the Firm...people seem to think that because you may not have the same beliefs any more that you have "forsaken the path". Oh well. I am convinced that I am better being lead by God than I am trying to make people happy.
I have missed sharing. I just hope you have not given up on me...come back I have a few more things to share.

I like the "brand" metaphor.
What if we're all the same brand? Made by the same designer, but for different purposes.
I'm reminded that J. Crew makes swim suits for the beach AND business suits for the office AND jeans for the weekends.
Thanks Josh. The brand idea has just stuck with me for sometime now. But I really liked what you had to say about the different brands from the same maker....sounds like another interesting post..thanks. Oh I will make sure I give you a little shout out about it.
