And finally, if you are here today and need....

I LOVE this picture!! My favorite part is the 'Hymn board" in the background. Do you remember those things? It was bad enough to get a songleader who would say, " please turn to number 578...5..7..8." Or my all time favorite the guy who would say the number two to three times and then the name of the song, " Number 578..5..7..8..'walking alone at eve'..578." That drove me CRAZY!! But I am sure that my kids will get older and say Do you remember when daddy used to always have the same background for every song for the entire service??

Something else that I remember that always seemed a little odd, and I had forgotten all about it until I read Keith's blog and he reminded me of it. (yes I have borrowed this from someone else.) Remember when , and most preachers still do this today, how the preacher at the end of the sermon would say," And if you are hear today and needed the prayers of the church..." WHAT?? If you are here today?? who is he talking to? Everybody that he is talking to is here, right? Or are they not here?

That has always been a phrase that has made me think and made me laugh. What are some of the things that you remember or still happens that makes you think the same things...come on share...it will be a fun trip down memory lane. So I invite you that if you are here right now reading this please let me know with your comments...

Peace.

I always loved the sound of songbooks zipping out of the racks as the preacher wound down the sermon. Priceless.
